Written Response format requirements
Every written assignment you turn in MUST meet these requirements totaling 40 points of your final grade. I reserve the right to not grade any assignment not meeting these requirements.

1-Writing Assignments Unit
1-Writing Assignment: “Staging a Takeover” by William Myatt
Read and annotate the article together as a class and write a one-page response to the question.
Response question: Citing the article as evidence, discuss why it is important for students to learn how to be directors.
2- Tony Tuesday Assignment
Response 1 Due: Dec 9 by 11:59 PM

2- Vocab- Production Team
Learn 10 words each week and take a quiz each 20 words
3- Methods Review Unit
Review all 3 Methods actors learn in the Company. Divide into groups and create a presentation for the class on your Method. Stanislavsky, Hagen, Meisner and Adler

Representational vs Presentational Theatre
3- How to Read a play
Learn what to look for when reading a play as a director for possible production
4- Script analysis for Directors
Read “The Rats” together and code the script for all design elements. Create a google doc for all research

5- Read and choose a One Act
Read several one acts and choose one you would like to design and possibly produce
5- Director’s Statement Unit
1- Set up the statement for both “The Rats” and your own one act
Set up with: Seed, WOP, Concept/Vision, Character, Colors, Set, Costume, Props, Lights, Sound, House
2- Seed/Concept/Vision
Seed- a one to five word message your show will send
Concept- a two three sentence explanation of how the seed will be shown throughout the show
Vision- a general explanation of how you want the show to look

Learn how to run Intimacy training meetings for actors who must kiss or hug
